Why I Started ThisFrom Loop Journal and Loopify, I started thinking about meaningful connections via people's everyday life moments. Instead of typical dating apps focused on fast matching, I hoped miniDot could be the place people slow down, log life, and eventually connect with other souls. We designed a matching mechanism to make sure people understand each other thoughtfully before they can directly interact.
What Surprised MeUsers described it as "the most peaceful platform." One user said they'd "never seen a more peaceful platform than this." We know several couples met each other in miniDot, and one even shared their newly-born baby's photo with us 🥲. But the most interesting finding: users feel sometimes miniDot "knows" them. Even though our daily prompts are pre-scheduled, some prompts touch them in some way, so they feel that if miniDot listens to their sharing and asks the "right" question at the "right" moment.
What This Opens UpThis became one promising idea: if the platform can really ask the right questions in right timing by understanding more on the users? How can AI enhance this without losing the human authenticity that makes it work?
